Time: 3:30 am

The free hour long walking tour of Vail Village and the public art collection with the town’s Art in Public Places Coordinator starts with an introduction to the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Museum. The tour then winds its way through the Village with discussions of the history of the Vail Valley, the founding of Vail Mountain, the master planning of the Village, and the importance of site-specific art. The Town’s public art collection includes 40 works ranging from painting, sculptures, murals, playground components, to site-integrated art.

Travel by snowshoes on an educational tour through the forests atop of Vail Mountain. Learn about winter ecology and animal adaptations as you gaze at majestic mountain views. Please come prepared to spend an hour outside in the winter environment with snow pants, warm hats, gloves and sturdy boots. Snowshoes are provided. Tours are available everyday, not just Saturdays! Tours meet daily at the Nature Discovery Center, and last from 2:00-3:00pm. Night tours are also available Tuesday-Saturday from 5:30-6:30pm. Ages 10 and up, FREE. Call 970.754.4675 for more information. No reservation required, just show up! All visitors must have a valid ski pass or Vail Scenic Ride Ticket ($36/adult) in order to ride the gondola before 3:30pm daily.
